Hello everyone, hope the new year is treating you well. Yes, I know I promised a post on 'What all I bought with the money I earned through my first freelance writing'. However, it requires external help as I am making it a tad bit different than usual posts. And, since I was already late to post I didn't want to delay the engagement here and I decided to post on a simple yet much difficult topic 'mindfulness'.
I have written about meditation in my blog and here I am with a closely related topic, 'How do we practice or incorporate mindfulness into our daily mundane activities?'.

*'Notice'*
Of course, the key is to notice. But, notice what? We notice our breathing, heartbeat, sounds in and out, during meditation. However, we can't be meditating all the time. Can we?

The answer is a weird yes.
Which is where mindfulness comes into play.
The idea is to notice what and how you are doing. Tasks, which we have been doing almost since we dropped on earth.
*'Tasks to notice'*
• Walking:
The first mindfulness I ever practiced was 'walking' with the Headspace app. You notice your footsteps, the way they touch the ground, and how you lift them. You intentionally slow it down and pick pace while you repeat this for as long as you like.
It is therapeutic. If you are new to meditation, I insist you start with this because often in anxiety we walk, sometimes I have taken 1000 steps while being inside the house. However, I am too anxious to note I did. If you are blessed you can also observe the surrounding of yours. However, if it hurts you where you are physical, I encourage you to just concentrate on your body, its weight on the ground, and your footsteps.

•Eating:
I have had trouble with eating since childhood, just like I have talked about in one of my previous posts, which I will link down below (talks about healthy eating, yeah clichè but it's different if you read).
I want to enjoy my meal. However, either due to busy days or my mind, I use the same time to enjoy my binge of shows or youtube. I want to cut this habit. So, I use other people's eating videos or my nephew to distract me from my phone. In the beginning, it will be boring. I apologize I can not give tips on how to do this since I have not mastered it. However, I can recommend, let's do this together and we will see if it works?

•Drinking your favorite beverage:
Do you enjoy honey-dipped green tea or Indian Chai? Or are you a coffee addict? Doesn't matter. However, tell me the last time you tasted the best beverage and why? What were you doing differently? Was the drink bitter? Sweet?
Coffee is something I have, as a power drink. I reduced my 2-3 times per day coffee to 1 time in the morning during most days for health reasons and sleep issues, which means I have my favorite drink in the morning when either I am rushing with a 'todo list' or getting ready. However, I realized since coffee is my favorite drink to have in the morning, I deserved to taste it with all my senses, including my nose, eyes, and tongue. Even hear the sound associated.
I find making my own coffee therapeutic, especially when nobody else is up and my electronics are stuffed into the plugs to get their energy. I observe how I put the powder, sugar, and milk. Even though I am a bit insensitive to smells, I can very well smell them in the morning. I noticed I make better coffee when I do it mindfully. I spill it less while swirling it. Though I like my mother's filter coffee, I will prefer having mine at least once a week because it brings a kind of warmth and peace to me.
I sit down to taste it using a mindfulness technique. I let it sit on my taste bud, slowly and then I gulp it steadily. Instead of having it all in one go because I love it, which is what I have done for most years by observing my dad or relatives do it, I am learning to unlearn my unhealthy patterns. 'Coffee days' is definitely a thing for me in the new year. Something I never wish to take for granted because I know the days I don't get it. The warm drink. And, I die of a cluster headache (lol).

That is it guys for this blog. I know it was not what I promised and a bit very usual. However, I wrote it with my whole heart, just like any other post. I will work on the other post and try to bring it up as soon as possible and I am 100% sure it will be very entertaining.
Thank you for the time ♥
Happy weekend.
