5 quotes you need to get your creative juice flowing

It doesn't matter how non-creative we think we are, we are going to have to apply our ability to find solutions either in art, words or in real life.

These 5 quotes are the only motivation you need to get the creativity flowing. I will also tell you when to apply each of them, so you don't take them out of context. After all, words out of a sentence are just alphabets mingled together.

Before we jump in, I want to thank this book I have been reading called, "Keep Going" by Austin Kleon. This book has been a real motivator for me and an inspiration for this blog post.

Alright, now let's start.

1. The beginning is now

I don't care if you want to write, read, explore art, paint or just work on a code. You have to start now. Right now. I want you to leave your doubts and procrastination for another time.

This quote is the beginning of the creative journey, and the pauses in between.

2. The universe has already written the poem, you are planning on writing.

I love this one, so much that I have made it my contact DP on Whatsapp. I first heard this quote in my favourite poet Sarah Kay's Ted Talk. I didn't like this idea but her voice and poem reassured me and I think somewhere all creatives think alike. I found this almost a year later on Austin Kleon's book.

The idea is not creating something new. The idea is to show others what you alone can see. Or, for those who believe, 'what the universe is showing you'.

I used to be so worried about if I am being repetitive in my poems, but some fellow poet gave me a piece of advice that I'll always remember, 'as long as that emotion exists, you are allowed to speak about it however way you prefer.'

This quote is for both humbling you and push you enough to not worry about 'originality'. That doesn't mean I am saying plagiarize. Please DON'T!

3. Absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence

Sometimes you will do everything that needs to be done to get that bonus or the reach on your Instagram page.

But, life will happen.

To-do lists and planning are useful to have a strategy to work on. They are not rigid lines.

Let your life unfold, and let yourself breathe. Do not get too stuck on numbers. They are needed but are not the most important thing.

You, you are the most important goal. If something is making you feel the flow, you are at it. Also, now that you accept your flow, you can think of a strategy that works for you.

4. You see what you want to see

You can say this quote is overrated but the truth is we don't see afar from what we perceive in our minds.

This quote comes in handy when you know your creative approach/solution/work was the best and yet, did not get a chance in the world. It wasn't your fault. Of course, you can try to understand their perspective and work accordingly. However, never does it mean that your understanding was wrong.

5. Find your own quote

Last, but not least is to find a quote that gets you going. I know, I promised 5 quotes and this one is for you from me. I can tell you the power of words is surely something. The key is to find the right mixture for yourself. No matter what I say, everything won't agree with you.
