Hey, on the occasion of this lockdown throughout most parts of the world, I wanted to share my story of being locked up inside 4 walls for almost a month.

Yes. A freaking month.

Recently due to some personal plans, my parents decided to come down to their hometown, which is technically in Tamil Nadu. I had absolutely no plans of sticking with them but due to the curfew implemented, I also joined them in the last moments.

We traveled on the last flight and came to Chennai on the 21st of March.

We were staying at our sister's place and with the Janta Curfew in the country on the next day, we only went to the terrace and ground floor parking for some breath of fresh air.

(Believe me, I hate the apartment lifestyle. I always did. I do more now)

Somehow, 'our traveling in-flight' got around in the flat and some idiot issued a sort of complaint to the corporation as if we were some patients roaming around.

We were restricted for a total period of 28 days from going even to the hall.

5 people in a small room? Catastrophic.

Specially for old aged and little ones.

To the worst, even my 3-year-old nephew was restricted.

Well, I really appreciate the fact that people took active steps towards the prevention of the spread of the disease.

But, from where we came, the lockdown of public spots had started long back.

We, as a family was taking many precautions as such too.

I am a medical student and had many visits to the hospital that month.

But I was protective of what I did, who I came in contact with and what I did afterward, i.e washing hands, changing clothes once I reached home.

I think I have always practiced these etiquette regardless of the situation.

I had a friend, give me this point of view that how the flat inhabitants' behavior was understandable.

But this is my story, my own blog and I have the right to tell it my way. So, I get to write what I felt. And trust me, I didn't speak of this even to my close friends or colleagues.

Anyway, moving on,

We were using masks in airports and underwent checking too.

My parents being old were even made to fill forms for further reference.

What surprises me is people's panicking and the media's fake news.

Isolation: means separation of patients

Quarantine is done for healthy individuals too, in a situation, where contamination can occur.

Yes, these facts can be learned if you look down at this 14 mins video by Apollo, and even you can be issued a certificate.

Even in that video, officially only 14 days were allotted for situations 'of doubt'.

But we were continued to be kept that way.

The positive side to this was, I drew on the walls. I genuinely practiced my art more than I have in my entire life.

I devoted myself to my studies and to make myself better.

But the situation kept getting worse.

I was stopped from going to the balcony because I might make a resident of a '2-3 meter distant' building have an infection.

Well, I guess if I were to have an infection, my whole family would have one. And that would beat the purpose of only locking us people.

That's why the government asked to keep a 6-meter distance regardless.

Moreover, no government officials came in for checking. (All lame things in the local news seems to be just a setup, with statements like they have been checking 6000 house/day)

I think precaution is important. Not hatred.

Not all North Indians, or even people white-skinned, or Chinese, or Muslims

Have Corona.

It is a virus (a scientific natural problem) that doesn't differentiate that way.

I think this became an opportunity for me to learn more about how stupid people can get and how I miss only the nature and forest ridges of my home and not a single human.

Because people always find chances of ridiculing one another.

Even if someone isolated, doesn't die of Corona, shall surely die of this ruthlessness.

At this moment I would like to thank my sister for getting me all the stationary, allowing me to use her notebooks, wifi, laptop, space, home, and wall..

I might not have said this to her face but I hope she knows...

That's all for this one guys, babye!
