The book had beautiful biological description and that grabbed my eye as a pharmacy student... I identify myself as agnostic theist i guess. The experiences were amazingly intricate and the later revelation of the link between his present world and the heaven was extraordinary. But sometimes the book felt a bit dragged and repetitive in some words like 'Neocortex being unavailable' was mentioned more than required number of times but I can unsee it acknowledging that the author must have felt that people won't believe him. Overall, other than refreshing few neurological vocabulary I am not sure what I learnt. On the believing part, I will never be quite sure. I am not complete ignorant that God doesn't exist. I wish he does and my heart believes so but I also understand it is this world, we are present in, is of uttermost importance and the only place we can ever know of certainity that we ever will be, hence we should be trying to make this place worthwhile.
PS: As a fellow poet, I really liked this poem (in image)
