Hello. Welcome to the blog. Long time no see. I have so many ideas for the blog but no way I could make it innovative enough.
Finally, I have decided, to do this blog on skincare mistakes you might be making. I have written and researched a lot about skincare. Tried, tested, and still looking for the good and the best products. So, here is my attempt to share the mistakes, we as common people, make, especially when we are new to skincare or are experimenting. To prevent you guys from making similar mistakes I have made this blog. Let us begin...
1.Not knowing your skin type

The first and the foremost mistake you could do is not knowing what your skin is like. There are in general three types of skin; oily, combination, and dry.
There are many tests available online that help you decide it, even product sites especially those that target personalized skincare, are starting to help people out on this. But, I suggest you ask a dermatologist or expert for the same. Generally, it is said after you wash your face, and leave it as it and if it has an overall shine, it is oily type; only shine on the nose tips, and the T-zone, it is said to be combination type; and if your skin feels like 'Rajasthan' has manifested onto it, you probably have dry to very dry skin.
2. Not using the correct product for your skin type

Now that we have looked at the major skin type, we have to understand that if we do not use the correct products that are specifically designed for your skin type. Skincare is very subjective and prone to hit and trial methods.
3. Using a harsh cleanser

Even if your skin is oily type, it doesn't require too much soap or harsh chemicals. You should always use a mild cleanser despite your skin type. This can be followed by scrubs occasionally like once or twice a week, for removing the dead skin. The top layer of the skin is your protective barrier and you shouldn't damage it by excessively stretching or exfoliating it. Damaging this layer of the skin can make you start looking aged before time.
4. Stop the 'whitening' products

Desis or Indians in specific mostly have beautiful dusky skin that deserves to be loved for the same. So please stop using fair and lovely creams, face washes, and such. or anything that claims to whiten your skin. You need not look like a pale ghost in order to have healthy skin.
Start making a healthy relationship with your skin.
5. There is no such thing as all-natural in supermarket products
This is a fact. The products which do contain natural product also need chemicals to stabilize them and often in that process the natural value of the real item is lost. Instead of falling for these claims, choose chemicals that actually help you. Serums containing vitamin-c, hyaluronic acid, etc. depending on your skin requirement. We need to realize most of these substances are widely available but hard to be extracted from nature. Hence, we need to invest in quality products than fall for wrong claims.
That is all for this blog. Even though this blog doesn't cover sunscreen, it is the most important and commonly ignored product of skincare. I didn't include it because I want to make a separate blog.
